As part of the Open Day event, which takes place every two years at Chestnut Tree House, 1,200 visitors came to
see the facilities available for the children and families who use the hospice.

On those two days, no children were staying at the hospice, so visitors were able to see all areas of Chestnut Tree House and meet the care team who look after the children and families.

Guided tours took place throughout the event, showing visitors the children’s favourites like the hydrotherapy pool, music room, magic carpet room and multi-sensory room.

Linda Perry, director of children’s services at Chestnut Tree House, said: “I would like to thank everyone who came to visit the house in its beautiful setting near Arundel.

“This special event is a wonderful opportunity for the public to find
out more about the important work we do, and a chance to break down the common misconception that children’s hospices are gloomy places.

“It was wonderful to hear the positive responses.”
