The exciting, beach- themed event is one of St Catherine’s biggest and liveliest fundraisers and now, the local hospice is appealing for 150 volunteers to help them make the night a big success.

There are a range of volunteer roles available, open to men and women. From helping set the event up during the day to celebrating with walkers at the finish line at night, there’s something for everyone. Could you or someone you know be a magnificent Midnight Walk volunteer?

n Researcher Volunteers –Are you a budding journalist? Or do you enjoying hunting out a story? Our researcher role could be right for you! We need people to find out why walkers are taking part and record their personal stories for St Catherine’s communications

n Celebration Volunteers - A real feel good role! Help to cheer the female Midnight walkers on, congratulate them with a medal and make sure they experience an amazing atmosphere to match their amazing efforts walking either seven, 13 or 20 miles.

In return for your help volunteering, St Catherine’s will provide you with a light breakfast and refreshments to keep you going, and you’ll experience a uniquely special night.

Louise Brown, Events Fundraiser at St Catherine’s, said: “Our Midnight Walk is the perfect way to kick-start your summer! Now in its ninth year, the night time challenge helps us raise vital funds so we can continue to provide our free end of life care to terminally ill people across Sussex and Surrey. Last year, hundreds of women took part, collectively raising more than £65,000, and this year, we’re aiming to raise even more. But we can’t do it without our amazing volunteers. By giving your time, you’ll help us to provide care and comfort to local people. There’s no better reason to ditch your beauty sleep!”
