Hospital fete's banner gone

A MISSING banner will hamper a Bognor Regis hospital fete's advertising drive.

The banner, publicising Bognor Regis War Memorial Hopital’s fete on August 3, has been removed from railings outside the Arun Leisure Centre in Felpham Way.

Chairman of the hospital’s Friends Brian Knight said: “I think it is disgusting.

“I only put the banner up last Thursday. It was there at 2pm on Tuesday and by 4pm it was gone.

“It has just disappeared. I don’t understand why someone would have moved it. It doesn’t make any sense,” added Mr Knight.

The banner was a good source of advertising for the fundraising event, as it was visible to those coming in and out of the town.

Much of the Friends income comes from the fete which they hold every year.

Two raffles – one in the summer and one at Christmas – plus donations and legacies and the many paid-up subscribers to the Friends make up
the rest.

The fete will take place in the hospital grounds on August 3 from 1pm until 4pm. All funds raised go to the hospital.
