Hospital gets an upgrade

LARGE sections of flat roof coverings are to be renewed at Lewes Victoria Hospital, along with insulation and the ventilation system is to be upgraded as part of ongoing improvements.

The work began this week and is due to last five months, carried out in phases to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.

Some parts of the hospital will be closed while the work is carried out and a temporary waiting room and clinic building will be installed.

Patients will be notified of any changes to their appointment location before they arrive and clear signage will be in place to direct people to the correct areas.

Each phase will last up to six weeks and will involve the replacement of the roof coverings above the clinics, diagnostics suite, X-ray unit, administration areas and the main waiting room.

The work is essential for the upkeep of the building ensuring that it is fit-for-purpose for the next ten to 15 years.

Everything will be done to keep disruption to a minimum.
