Hospitals' options revealed

The fight is on for St Richard's Hospital in Chichester after health chief revealed three options for its future - including a suggestion to downgrade it.

West Sussex Primary Care Trust today unveiled the three options for the way health services will be provided in hospitals.

Two of the three would see the Chichester hospital become the county's only major general hosptal while the third would see it downgraded to a local general hospital with many vital services lost.
