HOTEL DONATES FURNITURE
The Ashdown Park hotel has donated eight armchairs and four sofas to Mayfield Children's Home, the East Street residential care home for youngsters with learning difficulties.
The home is currently building a new cinema room and the furniture is going to provide the children with plush front row seats for watching their favourite films.
In the past the chairs may even have been used by some of the famous names of the silver screen. Last year Keira Knightley, Donald Sutherland and other members of the Pride and Prejudice cast stayed at Ashdown Park. Earlier this year Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellwegger were guests at the hotel while filming Miss Potter, the film on the life of children's author Beatrix Potter.
The furniture was no longer needed after the hotel at Wych Cross, near Forest Row, refurbished the drawing room.
