Hotel wins green award

AN hotel has won an award for its environmental efforts.

Deans Place Country Hotel in Alfriston made a 42 per cent saving on its water consumption and won the Envirowise water management challenge category of the 2007 Considerate Hoteliers Association hotelier of the year awards.

Deans Place managing director Peter Bramich said water saving efforts include low-flush toilets, reducing water in urinals and replacing cisterns.

Around 2,592 cubic metres of water per year has been saved - amounting to 6,580 worth of water consumption.
