A scheme to build 22 homes in Ringmer was presented to residents at a public exhibition last week.

Developer Cala Homes said it would take into consideration feedback from members of the public when it submits its planning application to Lewes District Council next month.

CALA Homes wants to build 22 homes with garages, parking and a new access road at The Old Forge, Bishops Lane.

Director of planning and design for CALA Stuart Forrester said: “The feedback from people we spoke to on the day was generally positive and a number of the people who visited said they were particularly impressed by the design of our homes.”

He added the development had been sensitively designed to provide much needed housing.

It will include an extension to the Old Forge to enhance its use.

A total of 111 people attended the exhibition in the village hall Friday February 27 where CALA displayed proposals, including findings from a number of surveys.

The proposed development includes one two-bedroom flat, six two-bedroom houses, eight three-bedroom houses and seven four-bedroom houses.

Six of the 22 homes would be affordable, available for social rent or shared-ownership to meet local demand.
