Housing solutions in Arun

Solving housing problems was the subject of a meeting which involved delegates from a range of organisations.

Some 60 individuals got together at the Arun Civic Centre in Littlehampton to discuss current problems and how to develop solutions amid the current economic downturn.

Hosted by Arun District Council, the session was organised with the help of housing and homelessness charity Shelter.

Government agencies, councillors, local authority planning and housing officers, developers and housing associations were present.

District council leader Cllr Gill Brown chaired the event. She said: "The whole of Britain is facing a housing shortage, and due to the credit crunch, delivering the right housing for local people is becoming increasingly difficult."
