Huge opposition to plans to split Littlehampton events

MORE than 1,000 people are thought to have signed the petition opposing the splitting of the Littlehampton Town Show and Family Fun Day in just four hours.

Campaigners were kept busy all afternoon in the Town Show marquee on Saturday (September 8),cal as people queued up to register their disapproval of the town council’s decision to separate the two events.

Their signatures doubled the number of those calling for the combined event, which celebrated its 10th anniversary on Saturday, to continue to be held on the Rosemead Open Space in September.

Earlier this year, the town council voted to split the two events, with the Family Fun Day held in August and the Town Show moved to the new Southfields Jubilee Centre.
