Going to their first competition in May, the girls won in their Hip Hop Team category.

Following SSDCs victory, Sophie decided to start a second competition team, Sophie’s Studio Minis, the dance school’s first U10 competition team.

With SSDC boasting a win at their first competition in May of this year, dance teacher Sophie decided to enter more acts in to this month’s Time2Shine Dance and Street Dance festival, held at BACA in Brighton.

Since September, the girls have been rehearsing tirelessly just once each week. Sophie’s Studio went on to win in EVERY category they entered, resulting in 13 podiums and nine golds.

It was a win for SSDC at their second competition as a Hip Hop Team and also a win for first time competitors, Sophie’s Studio Mini U10 hip hop team.

Sophie’s studio went on to win the Acro U12 section, the Lyrical group dance section, the U10, U12 street solo, U10 street pairs, U12 street pairs and O12 street pairs.

Sophie’s studio also claimed 3rd place in the U10, U12, O12 street solos and 3rd in the O12 street pairs. Not bad for just their second competition.

Their teacher Sophie would like all of her dancers to know how incredible they have been preparing and rehearsing for this competition.

Their commitment and dedication is inspirational.

Juggling school work, GCSE mock exams, pantomime rehearsals for Aladdin at The Capitol Theatre and Sophie’s studio rehearsals and classes is truly wonderful.

The dancers help one another, they work as a team and have created their own little dance family which is a pleasure to see. These happy and focused young ladies and successful competition dancers are a true credit to Sophie’s Studio and are fast becoming role models for others their age.
