Hundreds soak up fun at Angmering Village Market

SUNSHINE and blue skies were the perfect weather for the seventh Angmering Village Summer Market on Fletcher’s Field.

Hundreds of villagers flocked to the field, on Arundel Road, which for more than four hours was transformed into a bustling market place with dozens of stalls.

Several village organisations took the opportunity to raise awareness of their activities, including the Save Angmering Village campaign, which was publicising its fight against large-scale housing developments.

Arts and crafts stalls were busy with customers browsing their creations, and those who were hungry and thirsty had plenty of choice from stalls including Hammerpot Brewery, O’Hagan’s Sausages, Waitrose, Littlehampton, Rustington Country Market and other producers selling tasty treats.

The refreshments service run by members of St Margaret’s Church, Angmering, was also busy all morning and throughout lunchtime.

Angmering Croquet Club invited people to try their hand at the sport and there was a good entry in the dog show and the small pets show, judged by a representative of the Pets at Home store in Rustington.

Market organiser Val Jerram was delighted with Saturday’s weather and with the large number of visitors to the event.
