Hunnisett jailed for life for murder of supermarket worker

Christopher Hunnisett, 28, of Chanctonbury Drive, St Leonard’s, appeared at Woolwich Crown Court today, (Tuesday May 22), and was jailed for life for the murder of Peter Bick, 57, of Dorset Road South, Bexhill, in January last year.

Hunnisett committed the murder, where he bludgeoned his victim to death in Mr Bick’s flat, four months after he was acquitted of the killing of vicar Ronald Glazebrook.

He will have to serve a minimum of 18 years before becoming eligible to apply for parole.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Sloan of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said; “This was a terrible crime, and the jury were clearly unconvinced by Hunnisett’s claims about his motives for carrying out such a cruel and deliberate killing.

“What exactly was motivating Hunnisett in the lead up to the murder and afterwards we will perhaps never really know, but there is no doubt at all that society is a safer place now that he is in prison.”
