HUNT ON FOR GRAFFITI VANDALS

Lewes District Council is asking for assistance in tackling a spate of graffiti 'attacks' that have appeared in Newhaven, mostly in and around West Quay but also in other locations, including St Michael's Church.

Councillor Elizabeth Lee, Lewes District Council Lead Member for the Community, said: 'We would like members of the public to come forward and help us in tackling this problem. We are keen to keep our beautiful district 'clean and green'.

'Graffiti is anti-social as it defaces our built environment and the cost of cleaning it up could be better spent on improvements and initiatives for the community. If you recognise the style of the graffiti in Newhaven, or if you know the person responsible, please tell us.'
