Hurry, hurry, hurry for village enhancement grants

Time is running out for towns and parishes around Bognor Regis to bid for up to £5,000 of grants for schemes that benefit village communities.

Town and parish councils are being encouraged to make their applications for village enhancement grants before November 28.

Controlled by the Arun joint area committees, the grant fund is designed to give financial support to projects that aim to improve youth activity and achievement, crime reduction, local economic regeneration and environmental enhancement.

Linda Standley, Arun's regeneration officer, said: "This is a great opportunity for towns and parishes to obtain some much-needed cash to help deliver projects that improve their area."

An online application form can be found on Arun website. The committee's contribution will be no more than one-third of the total project cost or up to 5,000 to any one scheme.
