KNIT AND NATTER: welcomes all crafters to go along to the Library on Friday 26 February from 2pm to 4pm. Meet new people, share hints and tips, and natter.

HURST HISTORICAL & GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY: has a Talk on Glyndebourne by Nick Murray on Friday 26 February at 8pm. All welcome to hear the story of this opera house on a country estate, non-members £3, at the Guide Hall adjacent to Trinity Road car park.

MESSY CHURCH: for all the family on Saturday 27 February 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm at the Methodist Church, Cuckfield Road, Hurstpierpoint. Come and enjoy an afternoon of craft activities, Bible Story and songs followed by food. There is no charge for the afternoon but there will be a donations basket. Children must be accompanied by a trusted adult.

VILLAGE CINEMA: screens Wild Tales on Friday 26 February. This is a film about the many facets of revenge, in a brilliant and ferociously funny dark comedy. The Saturday Cinema is that Disney classic 101 Dalmations. Sunday Cinema has Mr Holmes, the retelling of the Sherlock Holmes story in his retirement. A BIG NIGHT OUT: is taking place in the Village on Saturday 27 February with the live band Groove Star playing Motown, Soul and Disco, hosted by the Tennis Club. With a bar, raffle and snacks, an entertaining evening is guaranteed. At the Village Centre from 7.30pm to 11pm. HURST AFTERNOON CLUB: meeting on Tuesday 1 March is an animal friendly talk by Mike Cohen on Guide Dogs for the Blind. All are welcome and refreshments are served. Village Centre at 2.15pm.

MID SUSSEX RAMBLERS: are holding on Tuesday 1 March a walk around Hurst starting at 10am from Trinity Road car park. This is a good 6 miles via Bedlam Street, Foxhole Shaw, Pyecombe, Ockenden’s Wood and back to Hurst. NO dogs.

NT LIVE: on Thursday 3 March at 7pm is the broadcast of Hangman, Matthew Bunster’s award winning production of a deeply funny new play by Martin McDonagh, starring David Morrisey. In his small pub in the northern town on Oldham Harry is something of a local celebrity. The question posed is what the second best hangman in England going to do when hanging is abolished? Tickets on line from the website or from Mishon Mackay.
