Husband of missing make-up artist released on bail

The husband of a missing television make-up artist has been released on bail by police.

David Chenery-Wickens, 51, from Duddleswell, East Sussex, was arrested on Thursday last week on suspicion of murder and released last night(Sunday).

He was bailed to return in two weeks.

His wife, Diane Chenery-Wickens, 48, travelled from East Grinstead to London by train on January 24 but has not been seen since.

She was due to meet him after a meeting at the BBC but did not arrive.

Sussex Police were twice granted more time to question him.

Police have searched the couple's home and areas of the Ashdown Forest.

A police spokesman said: 'Police will be continuing the search and forensic operations in and around the home address of Mrs Chenery-Wickens on Monday February 4, and are continuing to seek witnesses who may have information as to her whereabouts.'
