GREETINGS: It seems that summer has arrived this week. It's jolly hot out there at the moment. Have you noticed how much pink blossom there is in the hedgerows? May blossom is absolutely cascading all along the road sides, and very beautiful it is too. There was an almost seamless change over form the blackthorn to the Mayblossom. And roses, roses everywhere.

CHURCH NEWS: The 9.30 am service on Sunday will be Parish Eucharist, led by Rev. Canon Robin Whitehead. This is the third Sunday after Trinity. On Thursday 16th we commemorate Richard, Bishop of Chichester, 1253. His own prayer is often used today. St. Richard’s Church at Winchelsea Beach will be having a Patronal Festival of Art, Craft and Flowers, culminating in a Songs of Praise at 3.30 pm. on Sunday. The exhibition will be open on Saturday as well. Open from 10 am to 5pm on Saturday, and open at 10 am on Sunday until the Songs of Praise.

Refreshments will be available and a really very warm welcome for all visitors. See you there. The dates are 18th and 19th June.

CHURCH MARKET: This seems to have come round very quickly!! The June Market will be on Saturday 18th June from 11 am to 2 pm in the Memorial Hall. The new venue seems to very popular with some arriving for coffee and staying on for a delicious lunch. There is also cake, jam, chutney, marmalade and produce to tempt you, plus paper back books and some good as new items. Donations to any of these are always welcome. The plant stall, despite some donations, ran out last month. Please do you have any spare plants that you are prepared to donate as there could be some very disappointed people this month if there are none for sale.

WEATHER WONDERFUL!!: Daren’t tempt it to change.!

FIVE VILLAGES: The Five Villages Mini Bus Fund will be holding a bric-a-brac sale on Saturday 25th June from 10am to noon. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits and some of Derrick Baker’s lovely FOOD for sale. Save me an Eccles cake please, Derrick !!

QUEEN’S HEAD: The live music this week will be played by Jiggery Pokery, playing folk music. Did you know that the Queen’s Head has been in the Good Beer Guide for 30 consecutive years? There will be quiz night on Wednesday 15th beginning at 8.30 pm. This is in aid of Macmillan Nurses.
