Travelling Crib: This is a new idea for our Church and links us with our sister Church St Thomas’ Winchelsea. During Advent - the time before Christmas itself -little Nativity figures of Mary and Joseph visit individual homes or groups like the school. The travellers knock on the door and beg for shelter for the night. The hosts welcome them in, a candle is lit, and short prayers are said. Mary and Joseph stay the night, until they go on their way to the next hosts. It is a short, but moving reminder of their journey and can be especially good if there are children in the house. It starts on Advent Sunday (30 November) in Winchelsea and finishes of course on Christmas Eve.If you would like to take part and agree to give shelter for the night and take your little guests to their next host phone Marion Lovell 01424 815247.

Icklesham Trust AGM: The Trust runs the Memorial Hall and the Pavilion. Its Committee consists of representatives from Icklesham’s organisations and the village itself. The AGM is on Friday 5 December at 7pm for a 7.30 start. Everybody is invited to join the committee members for wine and nibbles before the meeting. This is a good opportunity to raise any issues which may concern you.
