Church Service; Sunday 31 August All Saints Parish Church Family Eucharist 10.30 and

Birthday Baptisms: will follow. It is the first Birthday of twins Bertie and Elsie Yeats, the children of Liza and Peter. Liza is a nurse who was a pupil at Icklesham Church of England School when the late Peter Highmore was Headteacher. Her parents Wendy and Eric Hysted live in Broad Street.Canon Hugh Moseley will take the service and there will be 8 God parents involved. The Yeats family live in St Leonards.

Deborah Ralph: The funeral of Deborah Ralph aged 49 will take place on Thursday 4 September at noon. She will be buried next to her Father in All Saints Churchyard.

Sussex Historic Churches Cycle Ride: This will be on Saturday 13 September. Please sponsor Hugh and Annabelle Moseley. Half of the proceeds will go to All Saints.

Art Show: All three days were well attended. 14 members of the Icklesham art group exhibited their work. There were lovely refreshments and a great raffle and 7 Icklesham businesses generously support with donations and raffle prizes, Eric Butler will be giving a full report next week.

Icklesham Art Group: The group meet on Tuesday morning. It is a relaxed social event where a lot of chatting and a certain amount of art is done. Many members have been part of the group for years; others are new to the group and to art, but everyone enjoys the pleasant atmosphere of informal painting and drawing, a cup of coffee and couples of hours devoted to their hobby.

The Great Scarecrow Competition; The competition starts for real on Saurday 30 - tomorrow. The scarecrows have to be on show till Monday 15 September. If you like them then why not vote? Judging forms are just £1 from the shop. That money goes to the New Pavilion Fund. Votes in by 12.30 on Sunday 7 September and the two winners will be announced the next day.
