Today is the last Lent Lunch of 2014 and is in the Memorial Hall from 12.30 to 2pm. The meal is homemade soup,bread, a choice of cheese and a drink. It is a very sociable occasion with no charge but you can if you wish make a donation to the day’s chosen charity. -

Palm Sunday 13 April is the beginning of Holy Week. The Service, starting at 10.30, involves distributing palm crosses and the reading of the whole Passion of our Lord by voices from the congregation. In the evening, a combined Winchelsea and Icklesham choir will present a devotional Service “The Cross of Christ” at St. Thomas at 6pm. At 6pm on Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday there will be Compline (a short evening service) with an address. 17 April Maundy Thursday 6pm Eucharist and feet washing.

18 Good Friday A Devotional Service

2 -3PM explaining the meaning of the Cross.

19 Holy Saturday 6pm The Service of Light when Easter is anticipated with readings and candles.

20 April Easter Sunday. The Parish Church is decorated with flowers especially Lilies. All are invited to remember a Loved One who has passed away by donating a Lily in memory of that person. If you wish to do so please contact Christine Overy on 01424 814927 or Janet Pegg on 01424 814735. The Lilies are £2 each and the list of dedications will be near the Lilies at the Altar.

Easter Sunday is like all weekends a busy eating time in both Icklesham’s pubs but now they are joined by “Oh Crumbs” which is next to Jade’s.

Saturday 12 April Mollie Thompson of the 14 Hastings Scouts (Guestling) will be selling locally taken photographs and handmade bracelets at the lcklesham Village Stores between lOam and 12 noon. She is raising funds for Demelza House, the Hospice for children.

Sunday 13 April Queen’s Head Live Music is Mike Mepham - the guitar man.

Easter Craft Fair Saturday 12 April tomorrow in the Memorial Hall from 10.3Oam until 2.3Opm. As well as a variety of Arts and Crafts there is a chance to taste delicious curries,meet the cook and get the cook book. Plus an Easter Egg tombola which will be raising money for the New Pavilion Fund. Refreshments, plenty of free parking on the neighbouring Recreation Ground and an excellent Play area for children.

Saturday 26 April The Robin Hood Bonfire Society invite over 60s to their annual party. The hosts will provide good food,drink and entertainment. To book a place phone Sue on 01424 814277.
