Tomorrow Saturday 15 June The Craft Fair in the Memorial Hall 10am -3pm. Stalls with custom made bracelets,essential oils,pottery,bags,cushions,greetings cards,stationery and lots more.The Church will have a plants stall. Refreshments available. Free parking on the Recreation Ground next to the Hall and a great children’s play area. It’s a friendly social event and is easy to find on the A259.

Live Music in the Queen’s Head 4-6 Bagge & Armer (And Beyond the Blues)

Saturday 22 June & Sunday 23 June. One week to go before the Flower Festival and Art Exhibition. In the Church flower arrangements will depict ‘’Crafts and Hobbies’’ - some displays will include the arranger’s own craft work. Additionally Icklesham C of E Primary School is taking on a large area to exhibit of the pupils’ Artwork.

The Icklesham Art Group will be filling the Manor Chapel of the Church with their paintings and other art work. Some of which may well be on sale.

In the Memorial Hall, 2 minutes away, Eve Ovenden will be working on her patchwork and we also have the 1066 Spinners coming in to demonstrate spinning and lace making. Lots of plants will be on sale plus cakes, cards and a large tombola to try your luck on.

The Ladies of the Church Market team are looking after refreshments including ploughman’s lunches and cream teas. Donations for any of the stalls, the refreshments or the tombola would be much appreciated.

The times for all this are Saturday 22 June 10am - 5pm.Sunday 23 June 11am -5pm.

Sunday at 10am ‘’Songs of Praise’’ a friendly service of favourite hymns sung among the beauty of the floral arrangements.

The money raised by donation in the Church will be going to the Tower Restoration Fund. We made a good start on this last year but have still a long way to go to preserve the Norman Tower, the oldest part of Icklesham and Winchelsea, dating from 1170. Last winter only buckets helped to stop us being awash.

Friday 10 July from 3pm.Icklesham School’s Summer Fair. This year The Friends of Icklesham School are making it extra special because Mrs Higgs is retiring.T here will be a Garden Party along with the Summer Fair, The theme is Alice in Wonderland. Fancy Dress is optional.

All the Icklesham community is welcome especially ex pupils,staff and school volunteers.

Saturday 3 August Icklesham Annual Fete and Icklesham Horticultural Summer Flower Show. The Fete will include a fun dog show,children’s races,Rye Dance,Pett Level Rescue Boat,a fire engine and lots of sideshows and stalls plus a performance from Oojah Kappivvy (no, I don’t know either).

The Horticultural Society Secretary Ann Osborne would like to thank Colin Page for his excellent presentation on Friday 7 June. She says it was disappointing that very few members attended.

The next show is with the Fete. Entries have to be received by 7pm Wednesday 31 July at 22 High Fords. If you have never entered the show and feel your garden looks good contact Ann Osborne 01424 814609 and for just £1 you not only become a member but get a schedule with all the very varied classes which you could enter. The Society invite the Wealden Brass Band to entertain Fete and Show crowds. The Society run a Bottle Tombola and any donations will be very welcome for this major fund raiser . Not just drinks of any type but also such things as bubble baths,sauces etc will be much appreciated.
