Icklesham celebrates Bonfire Night

It made up somewhat for last year when the event had to be postponed until December due to a water-logged field.

People enjoyed a traditional evening of fun with a torch-lit procession by the Robin Hood Bonfire Society and were entertained by bonfire drummers and Fishbone Ash dance group in colourful costumes.

The event culminated with the lighting of an enormous bonfire and a big fireworks display.

The evening raises funds for good causes in the village, including the primary school, and helps provide a Christmas party and meal for seniors.
