Icklesham Players are having their pantomime in 2013 14-16 March. Janet Kates wrote the play for the Players based on the Wilkie Collins murder mystery ‘’The Woman in White’.’Janet has now written a pantomime based on another classic story but it’s a very different story.Oscar Wilde’s very popular funny short story ‘’The Canterville Ghost ‘’ is the ideal basis for a panto. A great story with a happy ending, a hero, a heroine, a dame, lots of real character parts, music humour and of a ‘’he’s behind you’’ routine.

Would you like to be involved? Sunday 21 October 2.00pm in the Memorial Hall there will be a read through and auditions. Interested but can’t make it contact Janet Kates 01424 435333

The albino white squirrel that was reported last week around Windmill Lane and this week near Manor Farm Oast hasn’t just arrived in Icklesham. Mrs Sylvia Swaine says he’s been eating regularly in Brede Valley View since the Spring and particularly enjoys feasting at bird tables. Albino squirrels are unusual but are less rare in the South East of England. In the 1970s I used to see a group of 5 or 6 when driving towards ( not away from) The White Dog in Ewhurst Green. If anybody sees more than one at the same time please let me know and then we could report a colony of these delightful animals.
