A chance to view the information stalls set up in the Hall, discuss the services provided and meet other residents and Parish Councillors.

Light refreshments will be provided towards the end of the meeting.

Thursday 31 May has three evening events.

The Friends of Icklesham School have a Charity Auction to raise money for the School. This will be in Pett Village Hall from 7.00pm. Icklesham Horticultural Society has a presentation evening in the Memorial Hall starting at 7.00 for 7.30pm. The talk and slide show will be presented by Colin Page.The talk is free to members and 50p for non members. Every body is welcome.

The Flower Club is meeting in the Church making and planning the baskets which be decorating the Church as part of the Jubilee celebrations. Anybody who would like to make a basket is very welcome to go along .Spare baskets and oasis will be available and there will be coffee/tea and biscuits on hand. Alternatively you could make up your basket at home and bring into Church on the Friday or Saturday morning. If you need to know more please ring Christine Overy 01424 814927.

Our Parish Church is celebrating the Jubilee with a display of photographs and memorabilia. The search is for photographs or objects which have changed or disappeared since The Queen came to the throne (up to about 1990.) If you have anything which you would be happy to loan for display please contact either Rev. Hugh Moseley, Pilgrim’s End , Manor Close 01424813588 or Christine Overy 01424 814927. All items will be returned after the event.

Don’t forget to make a scarecrow for the Jubilee. Not too many rules -

The Big Lunch is planned for all who live in the village and any family or friends who are visiting. and will be held on the Recreation Ground.

It will be opened at 1pm by the Vice-Lord Lieutenant Mrs Sara Stoner on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.

On an outdoor stage the Geoff Bellhouse Band and the Icklesham Playerswill entertain using the last 60 years as their theme.

Coffee,tea and cakes will be available in the Hall but it’s hoped that lots will come with their own picnic.

There will be a fancy dress competition with a royal theme for both under and over 8s. Further prizes for the best ‘’Golden Oldies’’ hat and the best adult costume of the afternoon.

For the young there will be traditional games like water balloons, apple bobbing and sack races and the ever popular boys v girls tug of war

Prizes will be awarded at 4pm. and the National Anthem will end the afternoon.

Look out for the invitations designed by the pupils of Icklesham Church of England Primary School.
