Mrs. Gill Wood wishes to thank everyone who supported the sale of local artist’s work, fortified by cream teas at Oxenbridge last week end.

Everyone had a lovely afternoon, and £392.55 was raised for the National Trust.

Next Saturday, 15th September, the National Trust will be holding a Coffee morning at 11 am at Bodiam Castle.

Two dates for your diaries. Mrs. Pat Buckland is organising a Quiz with Fish and Chip supper on Friday 5th October at 7.30 pm in the village hall. You will be asked to bring your own cutlery, condiments and preferred drink. Mr. John Harrisson will be the Quiz Master.

Funds will be for the M. S. Society. Tables will be for up to 6 people and to book please phone Pat on 280 589.

Iden W. I. will be meeting next week in the Old Hall, not the village hall. Look for posters in the village. I understand that there is a different speaker too !

The weekend after that will be the Book Fair, to be held on Saturday 13th October from 10 am to 3 pm in the village hall. You could perhaps be sorting out books now. Only hardbacks and paperbacks please, no magazines. Please phone Ray Griffin on 280 311 if you would like any boxes of books collected.

Mid-week services resume this Wednesday at 9.30 am for Morning Prayer and 3.30 pm for Evening Prayer.

The 9.30 am service for 14th Sunday after Trinity will be Parish Communion led by the Vicar.
