Unusual views of Lewes taken between 1970 and 1990 will be on show at an illustrated talk delivered by the Friends of Lewes.

Before he died in 2013, local historian John Houghton, of Swanborough, donated a box of around 400 35mm slides to the group.

The group said 200 of the most interesting slides had now been digitised.

They will be on show at the Lecture Room in Lewes Town Hall on Thursday February 19, 7.45pm to 9.30pm.

Marcus Taylor, from the Friends of Lewes, will be the guide and there will be a quiz after the interval.

Members of FoL free, non-members £3. Wine and juice available in the interval.

The Friends aims are to stimulate public interest in the beauty, history and character of the town of Lewes.
