Impulse giving boost for youngsters

CHRISTMAS will be coming early for almost 200 youngsters this year '“ thanks to the generosity of Adur leisure centre users.

Impulse Leisure, which runs Southwick and Lancing leisure centres, enjoyed an overwhelming response to its recent Bring a Toy appeal.

Customers signing up for platinum membership at either centre were asked to donate children's Christ-mas gifts in return for 10 off their joining fee.

Nearly 200 toys were donated and, with the help of West Sussex County Council's children and young people's services, will now be delivered to local youngsters in time for Christmas.

Social worker Sandy Netherwood said: "I would like to thank all the Impulse Leisure customers who have donated such wonderful gifts.

"I am sure these presents will help make Christmas just that extra bit special for the children."
