In today's Rye and Battle Observers (2/12/16)

This week’s Battle Observer leads on the tragic story of the death of 18-year-old Ed Addie, who passed away in a hotel room in Battle.

Meanwhile there is more bad news for Battle High Street as the town is set to lose another bank - the third to shut up shop in just over two years.

Over in Rye, we report on a local family’s bid to raise thousands of pounds for a special 4x4 wheelchair to enable a young lad to visit the beach and woodlands with his family.

And do you remember the story we carried a few weeks ago about the theft of a Rye man’s electric bike, which he bought with money left to him by his late parents? Well there is a happy ending to this story as the manufacturers have stepped in to replace it with a custome made bike.

The festive season is well and truly upon us, and this week’s paper carries pictures taken at the festivities in Battle, including Santa’s arrival and the St Mary’s Church Christmas Tree Festival.

We also go behind the scenes at the Little Down Christmas Tree Farm in Westfield.
