"Inappropriate" Internet warning

PARENTS are being asked for their cooperation in a scheme to ensure that pupils do not venture onto "inappropriate" websites while undertaking Internet research.

Writing in King Offa News, the primary school's headteacher, Jenni Miller, says: "We need to understand that as part of their curriculum work in school when researching on the Internet they may come across unsuitable material, despite the very effective filtering used by the school.

"We have strict rules about sites children should or should not access and we expect all children to comply with these rules.

"In the case of some of our older children who use the Internet as part of their 'downtime' sessions they must always ensure they do not go into inappropriate sites."

The head is asking all children and parents to sign a form acknowledging this and return it the school

Mrs Miller adds: "The school reserves the right to stop children using the Internet if we feel they cannot be responsible."
