‘Incident of concern’ at Littlehaven station

A HORSHAM man has been arrested after an ‘incident of concern’ took place at Littlehaven station on Tuesday afternoon (September 27).

Commuters attempting to travel home suffered delays of over an hour as police attended the scene at Rusper Road around 5.45pm.

The 30 year old is alleged to have trespassed onto the station before falling off the platform.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “British Transport Police was called to Littlehaven railway station after a report of a man trespassing on the line.

“Officers from BTP and Sussex Police attended and a 30-year-old man from Horsham was arrested at the scene on suspicion of trespass.

“The man suffered minor injuries but nothing of concern after he fell from the platform.

“He was taken to hospital for an assessment where he remains this morning (Wednesday 28).

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”

The BTP say the Horsham resident will undergo a mental health assessment.

The incident affected routes to Billingshurst, Horsham, Littlehaven, Faygate, Ifield, Arundel, Crawley, Three Bridges, Redhill, East Croydon and London Victoria.
