Indications look promising for cutting speed in West Chiltington

CAMPAIGNERS in West Chiltington who used a speed indicator display in key areas of the village for the first time last week have had an encouraging effect on offending motorists.

Group volunteers using the equipment reported a noticeable reduction in speeds in the village.

The group also received support from the police with the long-awaited hand-held radar gun deployed for the first time in Monkmead Lane on Saturday morning, resulting in five fized-penalty tickets.
