Information sought after man is assaulted in Bognor Regis

An appeal for information has been launched by police after a man was assaulted in Bognor Regis on Sunday, March 11.

The 55-year-old male suffered a cut eye after being punched in the attack while he was driving home about 8.30pm.

He had entered Victoria Drive from the A259/A29 ‘squareabout’ towards Annandale Avenue when three men crossed the road while he was opposite the Downland veterinary surgery. All of them gestured towards him.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “The victim then saw the same men walking up Victoria Drive so he drew up alongside them, wound down his window and told them that it was not acceptable to make those gestures.

“All three men approached his van and started rocking it and spitting on it. Then one of the men punched the victim in the face before all three ran away.

“The victim sustained a deep cut under his eye which had swollen up and bled considerably.”

The offenders have been described as white. They were all smartly dressed.
