“Colin and Martin, lifeboat volunteers, gave an excellent and informative tour of the station, and of both the lifeboats,” she added.

The women were shown the state-of-the-art Tamar all-weather lifeboat, named the Enid Collett, inside the boathouse on Kingston Beach, as well as the D class inshore lifeboat, the Barry Lazell.

The club meets on the third Wednesday of the month, except August, at 7pm in Courtlands Hotel, The Drive, Hove. Call the club secretary, Sheila Hinton, on 01273 505613 for more information.

Membership is open to adult women in the area who are related to Rotarians or former Rotarians, related to Inner Wheel members or former Inner Wheel members, who have been invited to join and agreed by the majority of club members.
