We lead on the news a controversial hotel plan was turned down by councillors at a planning meeting yesterday (Thursday, November 17). We run reaction from the campaigners who fought against the proposal, and those who were in favour of the plan.

Other news includes a positive Ofsted report for residential care at St Mary’s School and Sixth Form College, a report from the launch of Democracy4Bexhill as they fight for Bexhill to have its own town council, and Rother District Council revealing a list of its preferred sites to accommodate around 1,100 new homes in Bexhill.

We feature four pages of pictures from Remembrance Day services in Bexhill and Little Common, as well as a page of pictures from the launch of The Music Man Project in town.

In this week’s paper is also a feature piece on two Bexhill families who have raised thousands of pounds for Chestnut Tree House in memory of their children.

There are nine pages of sport in today’s paper, leading on a report from free-scoring Little Common’s latest rout. Alongside this, we have the usual pages of letters, essential information, puzzles and event listings.

Christmas is certainly coming and this week, the paper also includes a free 24-page guide to all the goings-on in 1066 Country over the festive season.
