The paper leads on the story of fireworks intended for the Hastings bonfire night celebrations being stolen from a storage unit in Rye. We speak to the bonfire society chairman, who reassures the public the show will still go ahead exactly as planned. A fundraising page was set up to gather funds for the bonfire society in the wake of the theft.

Other news includes a teenager who fantasised about becoming a notorious killer being convicted of making threats to kill schoolchildren and a man being jailed after he was found guilty of carrying out a violent burglary at the home of Hastings-born champion clay pigeon shooter George Digweed.
