Interfaith embroidery

Different faiths come together in one stunning embroidery created by women of the Hastings Interfaith Forum.

The embroidery goes on display next week at the Maitreya Buddhist Centre in Sea Road and will be available to see during March 9-14, from 11.30-5pm.

The group met up for over a year to work on this embroidery to celebrate Interfaith, which is about promoting understanding and friendship.

The embroidery is now finished, and is being exhibited at many places in Hastings, Bexhill and Rother - this week it has been at the Pinehurst Centre in St Leonards.

Buddist nun Lam-ma said: "We are women from the Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim and Unitarian faiths - and we would love other faiths to join us.

" We meet at the Pinehurst Centre, 3, Avondale Road, St Leonards ( 01424-423687 ) once a fortnight from 2.00 - 3.30 pm.

"It is a small friendly meeting, we sew, talk and have tea; sometimes we take small pieces of embroidery to work on at home.
