Volunteers and organisations in Hastings are being asked to get involved in an event promoting children’s rights to an education.
Hastings Women’s Voice has been running International Children’s Day events since 2010.
The global event’s aims are highlighting the need to protect children and allowing all youngsters access to an education. This year’s event is co-hosted by Hastings Borough Council.
“It is going to be bigger than ever this year that is why Women’s Voice needs the help of the local community to assist them in the running of the event,” said Marylyn Edwards.
“This is a great opportunity for local groups and charities to have a stall to give information that could be of interest to families and children, or they could participate in other creative ways.
“It will be a great social event, a celebration for children and their families.”
The free event will take place on Saturday, May 30, from 11am to 3pm by bandstand in Alexandra Park.
There will be dancing, singing, story-telling and painting.
