It is also a time of reflection, according to Horsham resident Tracey Grabowski who contacted the paper this week to help her present a message of peace on this special day.

48 year old Tracey was the subject of Theo Cronin’s The Interview in the County Times earlier this year where she shared her life story - a harrowing tale of child abuse and violence against women.

A detailed account of her life is also presented in Tracey’s book ‘Hidden Shame-Tears Within’.

She hoped her bravery in coming forward would inspire others to seek the help they need and to speak out about injustices they face.

Now, on the International Day of Peace, she hopes her message will inspire others to put peace first.

Tracey says: “The five principles of spreading Peace are compassion, love, understanding, tolerance and respect.

“In order to create a loving environment, charity begins at home.

“Education is two-fold, both parents and teacher involvement, this sets the foundation for a loving, happy and successful individual.

“I ask you all to take my hand and let’s create a peaceful world.

“The Brahma Kumari’s in Oxford is the place for all your peaceful messages, posters etc.

“Peace be with you all,”

Tracey Grabowski
