Isaac Green, three, has been making a splash after joining Puddle Ducks swim school – an opportunity he was given free for a year as part of the KalliKids Sponsored Child scheme.

Isaac was selected after three months of applications, interviews and trials with a variety of different providers of children’s activities and services.

Isaac’s mum, Elizabeth Green, is pleased that he has been offered a place on the scheme and says it will be a big boost to his lifestyle.

She said: “Isaac has traits of dyspraxia and a mildly compromised immune system, which makes physical activities sometimes hard.

“I believe swimming will increase his confidence. We are very excited for Isaac.”

This is the second year KalliKids has run the Sponsored Child scheme.

In 2014, 20 kids benefitted and this year more than 80 across England will take part.

Karen Bach, Founder of KalliKids, said it is amazing to be part of something that helps to inspire young people to try something new, adding: “As well as gaining new skills we want the children to gain confidence and self-esteem.”

KalliKids checks and references every children’s activity and service provider before awarding accreditation.

KalliKids help parents decide what is right for their child and family by giving them dependable information.

Karen said KalliKids is the UK’s accreditation for children’s activities and services used and trusted by parents across the UK.

She set up the Sponsored Child scheme to inspire young people, adding: “We plan to follow each child’s progress.

“They will all be encouraged to write about their experiences to inspire other children to try something new.

“We will also follow their progress with videos, photos and blogs so everyone can see how far they have come.”
