Isfield & Little Horsted

In the wars: Mervyn Griffiths, a churchwarden at Isfield's St Margaret's parish church, was, at the time of writing, waiting for an operation at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath following a fall last weekend when he suffered a broken leg. I'm sure villagers will join me in wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

Sponsorship: The pre-school that meets at Isfield Village Hall five mornings a week will shortly be benefiting from a ‘dry’ month undertaken by Joey Pointing. Joey, who lives in Little Horsted and works part-time behind the bar at The Laughing Fish, went through November without a drop of alcohol passing her lips. She is now rounding up pledges, with the money raised going to the pre-school.

Party time: It’s that time of year, and two village clubs will be getting into the swing of things in Isfield Village Hall next Wednesday. In the afternoon (2.30pm) Isfield Wednesday Club will be having an afternoon of Christmas songs and Carols, followed by tea. That evening the village Dance Club will be having their Christmas party (7pm til 10).

Church services: St Margaret’s, Isfield (10am): First Sunday of the month, Holy Communion; second, Matins; third, Holy Communion; fourth, Family; fifth, Holy Communion. St Michael’s, Little Horsted: First Sunday, Communion (11am); second, Holy Communion, Book of Common Prayer (8am); third, Family service, (11am); fourth and fifth, Holy Communion, Book of Common Prayer (8am).
