Items linked to murder found on Eastbourne farm

Several valuable items linked to a murder in 2012 have been discovered on land at an Eastbourne farm this week.

Farmer Will Higgs discovered the silverware on land at Black Robin Farm at Beachy Head and the trinkets are said to belong to a priest who was knifed to death in his West Country vicarage five years ago.

The farmland around Beachy Head was searched by police back in 2012 after homeless drifter Stephen Farrow was spotted in the area.

Farrow was wanted for the brutal murder of Reverend John Suddards, 59, in Thornbury, near Bristol, and Betty Yates, 77, at her home, in Bewdley, Worcestershire, in early 2012.

Farrow, 48, is thought to have slept rough at Beachy Head and some of his possessions were later found on the downland.

Officers from Somerset and Avon Police believe the latest find was left there by Farrow and belongs to the late Reverend Suddards, who was stabbed by Farrow.

At his trial in Bristol, a jury heard Farrow was obsessed with religion and had also wanted to murder the Archbishop of Canterbury.

He was described as a sadistic killer and jailed for life for the killings.
