IT'S PANTO TIME

THERE was only one place where the discerning Fairy Godmother could be sure of picking up a quality pumpkin worthy of being transformed into a carriage fit for a princess and that was Bill's Produce Store in Lewes.

It was the obvious place for a visit by the cast of St Mary's pantomime, Cinderella, where the title role holder Lucy Freeman was 'crowned' by three of her young chorus friends (from left) Louise Moseley, Katy Grant and Emily Mason.

For Lucy it's a rather special occasion as she was born during a matinee of Cinderella (not actually at the panto!).

It was also the first theatrical production she appeared in as a five-year-old and she'll be celebrating her birthday during this show.

The Lewes pantomime, celebrating its 60th anniversary production, opens at St Mary's Social Centre on January 13 and runs until the following Saturday, with 2pm and 7pm performances on both Saturdays, 12 noon and 5pm on Sunday (14th) and 7.30pm from Tuesday to Friday (16-19th).

Tickets are available from 01273 477733.

More than 100 past members of the pantomime will be gathering for a reunion on the first Saturday night.
