IT'S SNOW JOKE

Much of East Sussex woke up this morning to a carpet of snow.

By 8am a thaw had set in but in some rural areas driving conditions were tricky.

Country areas to the east of the county experienced up to five inches of snow.

Motorists were warned of snow on the road between Wych Cross and East Grinstead.

The A26 was closed between Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells.

On the railways, train services between Hurst Green and Uckfield were disrupted due to a signalling problem at Hever.

Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 45 minutes were being encountered. A bus shuttle service is running between Uckfield and Oxted in addition to the train service.An additional express bus service will run between Uckfield and Haywards Heath.
