Newly re-elected mayor Cllr Jo Bentley will be opening Hailsham Lions Country Fayre on Sunday (June 8).

The fayre will take place at Broad Farm, Hellingly, and will be officially opened at 11.30am where a day crammed with entertainment in the arena will follow.

Alongside the talented Zoe Pennington Dancers, the Harmonie Brass Band will whip up a musical storm, followed by a birds of prey display from the East Sussex based Sussex Falconry.

In another part of Broad Farm, Maria Williams and her staff will be running a companion dog show from 12.30pm onwards, with judges Jill Cranfield and Daphne Bulmer, while attractions like Punch and Judy, a fun fair, castle carriages, Sussex Wings and a radio controlled race track will keep visitors entertained.

Stalls range from plants, wood craft, wines and ciders, costume jewellery, jams, handmade crafts, among others.

There will also be Mexican food, hog roast, candy floss, barbeques, a beer tent and Dr Tourle will be checking blood pressure at the event between 11am and 2pm.

Entrance to the fayre is £5.
