Jane selected for Olympics

The Central Medical Unit is a multidisciplinary team which will provide medical support to athletes and support staff from around the world during the Olympics and Paralympic Games.

Jane, who practises at the Battle Healthy Living Clinic and The Wellington Centre in Hastings, said: “Many osteopaths applied to be part of the team, and to have been selected is a huge honour. To be part of this event at any level is very exciting, but the chance to work with the best athletes from around the world is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“The importance of osteopathy in treating sports injuries has been raised to a new level of recognition and I am looking forward to the opportunity to be working with some of the best sport care doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and sports massage practitioners from the UK and abroad.”

For the first time since the Olympics began, osteopaths are to be included in the host nation medical team, working alongside sports medicine specialists, chiropractors, physiotherapists and other health professionals to assist with the support and treatment of competing athletes.

Jane, who is originally from Bexhill and now lives in Battle, is a member of the British Osteopathic Association and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council.
