Jewellery stolen in Bognor burglary

A thief broke into a Bognor Regis home whilst its occupant was away on holiday.

Various unusual and unique items of jewellery were stolen by the burglar from the home in Orchard Way.

The burglar broke into the house sometime between 2pm on Wednesday, October 26 and 1.30pm the following day.

A yellow 18 carat gold pendant with a ruby stone set in the middle was stolen along with a heart shaped solid pendant with a solitaire diamond at the top and a sapphire in the centre of the heart which was specifically made for the owner and is unique.

Other items stolen included a Turkish protective eye earring and necklace set, dangly star earrings, a plain wedding band, a signet ring with the initials DR on, a pair of Japanese stud earrings with Japanese writing on the face saying happiness and various gold chains and three bracelets.

A Sussex police spokeswoman said: “The theft of all these items of jewellery was upsetting for the owner because many have sentimental value and are unique.”
