Joan's tea-mendous service to club

PLAYERS of Walberton Cricket Club have marked a special occasion.

The event saw Joan Jackson retire after preparing teas for the club for 55 seasons.

Around 60 players, members, supporters and residents applauded as she received a glass bowl to commemorate her unique contribution.

Mrs Jackson was flanked by her husband and club president, Roy, her son, Chris, and grandson, Nick, who were both playing for the club against Slindon.

MP Nick Herbert said Mrs Jackson’s service was an incredible achievement. “It must surely be a national record,” he added.
