Thirty-seven roles were filled directly from last year’s event, including full-time and part-time jobs, apprenticeships and work experience. There were also more than 300 conversations between delegates and exhibitors after the event.

This year’s event is shaping up to be even bigger and better, with more than 40 exhibitors signed up already, including Littlewood Fencing, Hastings Direct, Park Holidays and Locate East Sussex.

On the day, visitors will have the opportunity to talk to local employers with live vacancies, who are keen to recruit new staff or offer apprenticeships or training opportunities.

The event is community-led, not-for-profit, being run by a steering group of community leaders and organisations including Huw Merriman MP, Bexhill College, De La Warr Pavilion, Coastal Community Team, Bexhill Chamber of Commerce, Culture Shift, Rother District Council and the Federation of Small Businesses.

Three hour-long workshops invite guests to meet up with six local business representatives in an informal café setting.

Moving from table to table, they will take part in a series of light-hearted activities and conversations with employers from a range of different sectors.

For those who may find it difficult to start a conversation with businesses at their stand, or who want to know more about employers locally, cafés provide the perfect opportunity to sit and talk in a casual environment.

Cafés will run from 10.30 to 11.30, 11.50 to 12.50 (Focus on Apprenticeships) and 1.30 to 2.30. There are limited places available, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Organisers have announced the event’s 2017 sponsors:

This year’s event is presented in association with Bexhill College.

Other sponsors are :

Beaming, Playne Design, CXK, National Careers Service, Italian Way, Rocksalt, Rother District Council, Amicus Horizon, The Club at the Waterfront, National Careers Service, Gold Sponsors, Bexhill Lions and DV8. The Bexhill Observer is a media sponsor.
