Construction on the new building is complete with just a few finishing touches to be added to the main entrance and the car park.

But it is the interior which has transformed over the last four weeks with both shops almost completely stocked ready to go for the opening on Thursday (June 18).

More than 100 John Lewis partners from across the country have come together over the past seven days to pull the John Lewis section together.

Their television and electrical items have all been installed complete with a technical support area where customers can get their electrical items repaired or tested.

The ground floor has seen a customer service and click and collect room created with a new seating area for shoppers waiting to pick up their items.

Nursery, bedding and bathroom items can also all be found on the lower floor.

Upstairs 16 different room sets have also been created in a new Home Hub section, the first of its kind in the company, to give customers more ideas and inspiration on how to design their home.

In the centre of the hub there is a section where customers can browse all the products available and order in items from other stores.

The lighting and flooring sections are also located upstairs along with the mattress area which has been separated into its own room.

John Lewis partners will also be on hand to help advise shoppers on what would look best in their homes.

There have also been two checkouts installed, with one located on each floor, boasting the company’s first ever ‘please pay here’ sign.

Meanwhile, the Waitrose section now has fully installed wine and juice bars and shelves are now beginning to fill.

The upstairs cafe has also been completed and staff are already learning the ropes ready to serve more than 150 people.

Jo Thomas, manager of Waitrose Horsham said: “It looks beautiful. I can not wait, I just want to see it when it is finished.”

The car park has a ground floor and an underground section and is set to host 366 spaces with a charge for customers who use it.

The cost will be £1 an hour for a maximum of three hours but customers will avoid having to pay the fee if they spend £10 in store.
